Richard "Rick" Pake

Richard "Rick" Robert Pake, of Hanover, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the age of 68.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 43 years, Pam Pake (nee Holman) of Hanover. Rick was loved by his daughters, and sons in law, Cathy (Ken) VanderStoep of Waterdown, Tracy (Cornell) Dehaas of Hanover and Aleasha (Troy) Grose of Alma. He was a wonderful Grandpa to Hannah and Emma VanderStoep, Griffin, Vincent and Claire Dehaas, Eliana, Abby and Corbin Grose. Fondly remembered by his sister MaryLee (Allan) Barnes of Guelph and sisters in law Janice (Robert) Grills and Lynn Townsend both of Fergus. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Rick will also be missed by his best friend, Jim Westlake and family. Predeceased by his parents Roger and Marg (nee Churly) Pake and parents in law William and Norma Holman. Rick was also the brother of James Pake and Margo Pake.

Born on March 30, 1950 in Ottawa. Better known as Rick to his family and friends, he was employed at Hanover Standard Auto Glass for 28 years and retired at Morry's Trailer Service. He will always be remembered for his gentle, kind nature and the love for his family and the outdoors. Recently, he received the Honorary Award from the Chamber of Commerce for his exemplary community service. Never too far without his fishing rod and ATV in the summer or his snowmobile gear in the winter, he loved to simply be outdoors. A member of the Hanover Snowmobile Club, he loved riding the trails and the conversation with friends new and old. He was actively involved with the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority, Hanover Missionary Church and the Optimist Club.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00 am, at Hanover Missionary Church (628-11th Street, Hanover). Pastor Lyndsay McGregor officiating. Private family Interment in Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus.

Memorial donations to the Silver Lake United Church Camp or to the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority are appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
