Paul Oscar Schmidt, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce in Owen Sound on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. He was 90.

Born on August 5, 1929 in Kenilworth, Ontario to the late Oscar and Veronica (nee Fitzpatrick) Schmidt. Paul worked in building maintenence at the Wellington House for many years. He was a member of the Elmwood Seniors Club and enjoyed the many friendships that were formed there.

Survived by daughters Selena Schmidt of Guelph and Denise Schmidt of Acton. Loved by his step children and their families. Special grandfather of Samantha, Amanda, Miranda and several step grandchildren and their families. Predeceased by his beloved wife Rhoda (nee Densmore) Schmidt, who passed away in September of 2017.

To honour his wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. A private family inurnment of ashes beside his beloved wife Rhoda, will be held at a later date in the Hanover Columbarium.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home.
