David Roy Andrews

David Roy Andrews

David Roy Andrews, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, July 7, 2019. He was 64.

Born in Walkerton, Ontario, on February 19, 1955, to the late Roy and Annie (nee McGuire) Andrews.  David worked for many years on Ontario railways, but he also owned a convenience store, and served as a volunteer firefighter.  Many will remember his friendly smile while working as a crossing guard on 7th Avenue in Hanover.  David stayed active in his community as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #130 in Hanover, where he would also work as a Bar Steward, and enjoyed playing in the Darts leagues.  As busy as he kept, David always had a priority for his family, as they were his true passion.

Survived by loving wife and best friend Mary (nee Schwoob) of Hanover. Loving father of Angela (Kevin Hansen) Andrews of North Frontenac, Jamie Andrews of Hanover and Michelle (Rich) Schaefer of Hanover.  Dearly missed by grandchildren Desiree, Brittany, Katrina, Zoe, Lucas, Brody, and great grandchild Cason.  Fondly remembered by brother Garry Andrews of Walkerton and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents and a brother in infancy.

To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place.  Family and friends are invited to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #130 Hanover on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 1-4 pm for a Memorial gathering to share stories, memories and support the family at this time.

Memorial donations to the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #130 – Hanover would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
