Lois White

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Lois Alberta White (nee Felix), at Rockwood Terrace, Durham, surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, January 13, 2018. She was 78.

Lois (nee Felix) was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 8, 1939 to the late Henry and Alberta (nee Moran) Felix. She was employed for many years as an executive secretary for New Life Mills. She was also a great supporter of her community where she showed her talents and was crucial in the role of recruiting physicians locally as a part of the Physician Recruitment and Retention Team. She was also secretary of the fundraising committee for the Hanover Medical Clinic and her efforts did not go unnoticed. She was a valuable team player and her smile was contagious. She also supported her husband and was the "First Lady" when Bob became Mayor of Hanover for 12 years. Her motto was "everyone deserves to be greeted with a smile". Her kind heart and timeless sense of style impacted everyone she came in contact with. Family meant everything to her and she was everything to us.

Survived by her true love and partner husband Robert "Bob" White of Hanover. Together for 60 years, they embarked on many adventures and raised their three children; Steven (Suzanne) White of Hanover, Scott White (Deb Latter) of Paris and Stacey (Martino) Catalano of Hanover. Her pride and joy were her beautiful grandchildren, Courtney  (Andrew Jarrett) Grant, Stephanie White, Alexandra White, Cassandra White, Chelsea Sloan and Kylie Sloan. They all shared a special bond with her, making each of them feel special when they would share time together. She adored and will be missed by her great grandchildren Harlow Grant and Lennon Grant. Fondly remembered by her sisters Barbara Coffill of Orillia, Marilyn Coffill of Cannington, Deborah (Paul) Purcell of Toronto and Beverly (Pierre) Plouffe of Kirkland Lake. Predeceased by her parents and two brothers Doug and Jimmy Felix.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11:00 am, at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover. Rev. John Polacok officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
